TTSReader

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Text To Speech Reader ("the Service") handles your information. Our guiding principle is simple: the Service is designed to run on your device, and we do not want or store your content.

1. How the Text You Enter Is Processed

The Service converts text into speech using your web browser's built-in speech engine through the standard Web Speech API.

The Service is configured to use on-device (local) voices only. The text you type or paste is passed to a voice that runs locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. We do not collect, store, view, or have access to the text you enter.

Please note an important technical limitation: speech synthesis is performed by your operating system and browser, which are outside of our control. The list of available voices is filtered to those your browser reports as local, but we cannot independently guarantee the internal behavior of every voice engine on every device. If your device has no local voices available, no voice will be listed and the Service will not produce audio.

2. Local Storage on Your Device

To improve your experience, the Service saves a single small preference in your browser's local storage: the name of the voice you last selected. This value:

The text you enter is not saved to local storage and is not retained after you close or reload the page.

3. Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used. Analytics may collect non-personally-identifiable technical information such as your browser type, device type, approximate geographic location, and which pages you visit. This data is aggregated and used solely to improve the Service. It does not include the text you enter or the audio produced.

You can learn more about how Google handles data at Google's Privacy Policy, and you can manage ad personalization at Google's Ads Settings.

4. Cookies

The Service itself does not set cookies to identify you. Third-party services such as Google Analytics may set cookies as described above. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings.

5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Because the Service does not create user accounts and does not store your content or personal data, there is generally no personal data held by us to access, correct, or delete. Requests related to analytics or advertising cookies can be managed through your browser settings or the third-party opt-out links provided above.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
